Yao was born out of frustration. When solicitors Natasha Lewis and Col Secomb founded Lewis Denley Solicitors in Horsham in 2017, they couldn't find a practice management system that truly worked for a modern law firm — one that was flexible, intuitive, and built around how lawyers actually operate.
So they built one themselves.
Yao — which stands for You Are Organised — is a cloud-based legal practice management platform designed by lawyers, for lawyers. Launched commercially in 2023, it brings together everything a law firm needs in one place: case management, task automation, custom workflows, accounts, document handling, and seamless integrations with Companies House, HMRC, Land Registry, Xero, and more.
What makes Yao different isn't just the technology — it's the philosophy behind it. We believe great legal software should reduce admin, not add to it. That's why Yao is built to be simple to use, easy to migrate to, and genuinely responsive to the needs of its users through regular feedback sessions and a collaborative community platform.
We're committed to fair, transparent pricing and long-term partnerships with the firms we serve.
Deliver your best work with Yao.
