MoJ Announce changes to the RTA Claims Portal - March 2021

We have been notified by Claims Portal Ltd that some changes are being made to the RTA Portal as a result of the launch of the Official Injury Claims Service.

The changes we have been advised of relate to:

  • Re-labelling the injury fields in Section B of the CNF to ensure that claims including tariff damages can be identified;
  • New fields in the Interim Settlement Pack to record separately tariff damages and non-tariff PSLA;
  • New fields in the Stage 2 Settlement Pack to enable the claimant representatives to claim tariff damages separately from non-tariff PSLA and also to claim the exceptional circumstances uplift of up to 20% where appropriate; and
  • Corresponding fields in the compensator response to the Stage 2 Settlement Pack for tariff damages and uplift.

What does this mean for me?

These changes will result in some changes to the A2A integration you currently use and are likely also to result in some changes to the Visualfiles Add-In. At present, we have not received any further details or technical specifications to enable us to evaluate the full impact of the changes. We are pressing Claims Portal Ltd to provide further information and details of testing facilities as quickly as possible and will of course update you as soon as we have any further information.

What steps do I need to take?

You should plan to make changes to your Visualfiles integration from mid May. At present we have no further information from Claims Portal Ltd so cannot give a release date for the updated programs and Visualfiles components but we will keep you up to date as soon as we receive any further information.
