Adobe eSign Services – Bott & Co

Innovative law firm Bott & Co has been using Adobe eSign services to simplify the claim making process, reduce the time taken to complete complex forms and to deliver an exceptional service to its clients with over 50,000 clients having used Adobe eSign to start their flight delay claims.

In just two years Bott & Co, the UK’s leader in flight delay compensation claims, has recovered £8.5 million for thousands of airline passengers from 81 airlines.

Having watched the eSign service develop since its acquisition by Adobe in 2011, Bott & Co knew that it had to take full advantage of Adobe eSign Services to reduce the turnaround time typically associated with clients returning their signed paperwork. Software from Legal Process Automation Experts Zylpha enabled Bott & Co to integrate Adobe eSign directly within Bott & Co’s Visualfiles Case Management System so that documents can be sent for signature directly.

Anyone who has worked in the legal profession knows how time consuming and resource intensive it can be to encourage clients to return their paperwork instructing you to act on their behalf. Most traditional law firms will send out instruction paperwork by post, and diarise to follow it up in seven days. If the paperwork is not received during that time a second letter will be sent, which might also prompt a phone call to ask for the completed documents to be returned.

However, the client’s claim is frustratingly delayed until those completed forms are received. Regardless of the type of work being carried out, an initial two week delay automatically adds an additional two weeks to the length of the work. For a standard flight delay compensation case at Bott & Co this would add 25% to the length of the case.

“When a client instructs us on a flight delay compensation case, there are only two questions they want answers to, how much am I going to get, and how long is it going to take”

says Paul Hinchliffe, Managing Partner at Bott & Co adding.

“By using Adobe eSign Services directly from within our Visualfiles Case Management System, we have been able to exceed our clients expectations in terms of time taken and quality of service. Our client’s like being able to sign their paperwork electronically as it can be done from any device including their smartphone or tablet, and we know that it is secure and encrypted”

says Paul.

Currently, eSignatures are legally valid and enforceable in 27 countries — including: Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The Adobe Document Cloud eSign services comply with industry security standards, including HIPAA and PCI v3.0 used by the payment card industry. They are also easier to audit than ink signatures as eSignatures can provide additional levels of security, tracking, and control.

Visualfiles users can take advantage of Zylpha’s Adobe Acrobat Sign integration to easily send documents out for e-signature. Standard scripting means hassle-free integration with your existing applications. Plus there’s built-in tracking of all events and actions, notifying users at key stages. Zylpha also offer an Adobe Acrobat Sign for iManage integration.
