Throughout September, two teams from Zylpha are aiming to complete 300 miles of physical activity to help raise much-needed funds for the Trussell Trust, a charity that works to stop UK hunger and poverty. Their network of foodbanks provides emergency food and support to people in crisis.
The Zylpha 300 challenge is being completed by a team of developers, and another team from the Sales & Marketing division. The aim is to complete either 300 miles per team collectively or to complete it on your own for even more of a challenge. So far the two teams have completed nearly 500 miles of activity since the start of September.
The goal is to raise over £300 for the Trussell Trust so they can continue to provide the vital help and support to people in crisis.
In the UK, more than 14 million people are living in poverty – including 4.5 million children. The Trussell Trust supports more than 1,200 food bank centres in the UK to provide a minimum of three days’ nutritionally-balanced emergency food to people who have been referred in crisis, as well as support to help people resolve the crises they face. Between April 2019 and March 2020, food banks in our network provided a record 1.9 million food supplies to people in crisis, an 18% increase on the previous year.
Update: This challenge is now closed and the team raised over £400 for the Trussell Trust, and completed a combined total of over 1,100 miles.
